Cursed

Cursed is my reinterpretation of a classic fairytale in which a knight slays a monster to save a damsel. In this version, the knight is saving the damsel from herself, from a curse that has overtaken her mind and twisted her body into the monster. I have always been inspired by classic fantasy and nature, and also by explorations of pain and how it might manifest in a magical setting. The monstrous form of the damsel is less of a straightforward curse, and more of a reflection of bad mental health, and the ways it can twist and change us into distorted reflections of ourselves. Sometimes, all we need is a helping hand to wake us up and show us how to change, how to see the bright side and let go of the monster.
